Ekane Nkwelle is a climate justice advocate with over eight years of experience at the intersection of environmental governance, human rights, and community empowerment. With Green Development Advocates (GDA), he has advanced forest communities’ rights, challenged destructive large-scale developments, and supported inclusive climate adaptation. Ekane is passionate about building capacities especially of women and indigenous peoples in advocacy and strengthening their livelihood activities, fostering leadership and resilience among marginalized groups. He also works with communities to build governance institutions, access grievance mechanisms, and promote entrepreneurship. Ekane envisions a just, sustainable future where ecosystems and empowered communities thrive together.
