GDA’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of African tropical forests while respecting the culture, rights, interests and needs of African peoples. Particular attention is paid to the particular situation of indigenous forest peoples.
For GDA, more participatory, equitable and objective management could be more effective, as could increasing the forest area, not to mention sustainable supply chain management. The objectives assigned to this strategic axis are as follows :
of indigenous peoples and local communities in forest management
management of community forests (men, women, youth)
policies / projects / programs that will impact the forest and other natural resources
with local and indigenous communities, public institutions, international organizations, civil society
Proactive and community-based engagement for timely and tailored local action
in order to strengthen its action capacities and efficiency
of members and staff through training, seminars, exchange meetings
